Deska Binarso is a freelance Director of Photography based in Jakarta. His passion for photography grew since Junior High and then from still images making obsession he expanding his knowledge to motion pictures after he graduated from High School and that's when he decided to begin learning about movie production in Next Academy, Jakarta in 2005.

Deska started his career independently as Director of Photography since 2009. His early career projects mostly on music videos and documentaries. Through music videos Deska's feel that there's no limit about interpretting the music itself also the freedom to express and explore it in both camera and lighting technique, while documentaries really fill in part of his heart with the truth and capturing reality about this world.

His early career stage really build his character and style to approach director's visual concept. Now he continues to challenge himself with his career in TV and Digital Commercials with his own unique style. The love for technology also help Deska to keep updated in this digital world. Born from the era of digital video and grew from the transition phase of seluloid to digital makes Deska has a well knowledge in many varieties of recording medium. It makes him capable to work in any kind of cameras such as ARRI, RED, Kinefinity, Super 8mm, DSLR, Mirrorless even Mini DV, Hi-8 or Betamax cameras as long it fits to the story, concept and budget.

Deska just won Bronze for Cinematography category from Citra Pariwara in 2020.
